SP18-11 Reflecting on the History of GBA
This video is only available to members; join GBA today to watch it.

Chicago is where it all started! Fifty years ago, leaders of about a dozen consulting geotechnical engineering firms, along with insurance experts, gathered in Chicago to discuss the challenges they faced with obtaining professional liability insurance and reducing the issues leading to professional liability claims and losses. The outcome of that meeting was the formation of ASFE and the start of our nearly 50-year history of collaborating to solve common issues.

As we approach GBA’s milestone 50th anniversary, Joel Carson (Geoprofessional Business Association) reflects on the foundation on which GBA will build its future. (13 minutes)
