Special Programs, Keynotes

GBA can prepare half-day seminars for your firm or organization, based upon topics you want emphasized. One of those readily available is titled "Managing Risk to Build Profit." It focuses on: Client relations vs. customer relations (differences that make all the difference). Keeping clients elated. Creating allies among providers. The 30-second exercise that can create clients and friends for life. Why clients (and others) sue. Why contracts don't prevent lawsuits. Why the method you use to form a contract is more important than the contract itself. Preventing third-party claims. Investing nonbillable hours wisely.

GBA also has 60- and 90-minute programs available for presentation on behalf of GBA and your firm to local chapters or sections of related associations. Pre-existing topics include “I Wish I Had Written That” (60 minutes) which explores writing myths, mistakes, and techniques for improvement. “Getting to the C Level” (75 minutes) focuses on steps engineers and other technical professionals can take to once again become the trusted professional advisors of client organizations’ CEOs, COOs, CFOs, CMOs, et al. “Echoes of the Future” (75 minutes) examines how engineers of the past were leaders of society; how engineers today are leaders of some societies (such as China); and what today’s engineers can do to once again become leaders. These presentations are made by GBA Executive Vice President John P. Bachner, a well-known and highly regarded speaker and columnist. Special rates are available when such programs are conducted the evening before or the evening of a BackYard Seminar led by John.
