For more than 20 years, GBA has held a series of Crystal Ball Workshops to identify long-term emerging issues and business trends, and their potential impacts on the geoprofessions. GBA has accurately identified mega trends that have transformed our profession early to help geoprofessionals to prepare, remain relevant, and thrive through change.

Workshops have accurately foreseen consolidation trends in our industry, as well as many of the impacts from demographic and economic shifts that geoprofessionals have experienced. They have also accurately predicted the impacts of climate change and big data, AI, and machine learning on our industry.

At the conclusion of each Workshop, GBA publishes a summary of discussions and recommendations to members in support of their businesses as a Business Brief.

Become a Partner
We invite you to partner with geoprofessional alliance organizations in support of the 2027 Crystal Ball Workshop. Options for participation include:

Tier 1 Partner – $10,000 Commitment
• Identification as a Tier 1 Partner in Workshop promotional material.
• Participation in Workshop planning meetings.
• Identification and initial recruitment of one SME.
• Attendance of two representatives at the Workshop.
• Receipt of all Workshop output materials including video recording of the Workshop summary.
• Use of the GBA Business Brief when it is published.

Tier 2 Partner – $5,000 Commitment
• Identification as a Tier 2 Partner in Workshop promotional material.
• Attendance of two representatives at the Workshop.
• Receipt of written Workshop output materials.
• Use of the GBA Business Brief when it is published.

GBA will provide the venue and GBA staff will handle all on-site logistics for the Workshop. We will also negotiate terms of engagement with a highly skilled facilitator and all SMEs

At the conclusion of the Crystal Ball Workshop, GBA will permit Tier 1 and Tier 2 Partners to use the Workshop output materials in any manner that you see fit, providing recognition of GBA’s involvement in the Workshop and branding any publications or other products that result from the Workshop with the GBA logo.
