Steve Wendland, PE, PG, DGE, is a President of Bedrock Geoconsult, LLC . Before he started his own business he worked for GeoEngineers where he focused on providing geotechnical support to select projects, markets, and clients nationwide and leads the Kansas City office. Wendland also has served as Director of Geo-Engineering at Kleinfelder, Inc.; in that role he was responsible for leading the technical expertise and quality of work for geotechnical and geological engineering nationwide. For over 33 years he has provided geotechnical engineering services and analyses for a wide variety of structures and facilities across the United States and internationally. Wendland previously served GBA as vice-chair of the Business Practices Committee. He also served a three-year term serving as chair of the ASCE/GBA Ethics Award Committee. He is currently serving as a member of ASCE’s newly formed committee to develop a new standard titled Criteria for the Design and Construction of Foundations. After graduating from Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering, Wendland earned a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Texas – Austin. Wendland is a native Kansas Citian and currently lives with his wife, Molly, in the Kansas City area.
