Executive Director
Joel G. Carson

Joel G. Carson is the Geoprofessional Business Association’s Executive Director. He leads,directs, and manages the association’s operations to achieve its mission, vision and strategic plan, and he acts as the primary liaison for the organization with external parties and the public. Prior to being selected as GBA’s Executive Director, Joel Carson was a practicing geoprofessional consultant for more than 25 years.

Communications Director
Cassandra Langley

Cassandra Langley joined the GBA staff in 2023. She works to increase brand awareness, improve member engagement, and promote member benefits through digital communication platforms. She has more than 15 years of experience in communications, writing, and public relations in the nonprofit, agriculture, real estate, and event industries. She is a University of Missouri-Columbia graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication. Outside of work, Cassandra trains mixed martial arts and spends any spare time with her dogs and friends at community events in the St. Louis area.

Events Director
Kelley Versteegh

Kelley Versteegh joined the GBA staff in 2025 as Events Director. She leads the planning, logistics, and execution of GBA’s full calendar of events. From multi-day conferences to leadership retreats and workshops, Kelley ensures each event is strategic, efficient, and member-focused. Kelley brings over a decade of experience managing high-profile programs, and is known for her attention to detail, budget oversight, and ability to coordinate diverse teams and vendors. She holds a B.A. in Humanities from California State University, Sacramento, and has a long-standing commitment to serving her community through volunteer leadership in youth and rescue organizations.

Member Services Manager
Sara Menase

Sara Menase joined the GBA staff in May 2010 and has managed professional development and other programs. She is also in charge of membership services, assists in meeting preparations and manages other day-to-day operations of GBA. Sara has an extensive background in non-profit administration, office management and bookkeeping. Before joining GBA, she worked in other non-profit associations. Sara earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in social and behavioral sciences from the University of Maryland. In her spare time she enjoys listening to music, getting together with friends and family, going to movies, concerts, museums, and being outdoors.

Business Development Manager
Nikki Scalia

Nikki Scalia joined the GBA staff as Business Development Manager in 2025. She leads efforts to identify, connect with, and onboard new geoprofessional consulting firms, while strengthening GBA’s visibility as a trusted, connected voice across the community. With nearly two decades of experience in the geoprofessional and construction industries, Nikki has served as a geotechnical engineer responsible for the design and execution of large-scale projects across the U.S. and Canada in multiple market sectors. Based in Fort Collins, Colorado, Nikki enjoys hiking and other outdoor adventures with her husband, Joe and their two kids.

Database Administrator
Rachel Neth

Rachel brings to the GBA team a strong background in non-profit and database/document administration, process management, workflow optimization, and training. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Western New England University and has studied Computer Science at Southern New Hampshire University. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting and journaling, spending time with friends and family, learning new things, traveling, and going to musicals.

Committee Coordinator
Stacey Moore

Stacey Moore (previously Bush) joined the GBA staff in 2025 as Committee Coordinator. She serves as support for the committees and their chairs by coordinating activities including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, attending meetings, recording, and interpreting proceedings to ensure accuracy, composing correspondence, and recording minutes and reports. Stacey brings 20+ years of experience coordinating volunteer programs with multiple organizations from youth sports to disaster relief. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to live music, attending festivals, and traveling.
